Community Learning for Adult Students Society- Lac La Biche & District
CLASS is dedicated to promoting lifelong learning. CLASS is a non-profit society run by a volunteer Board of Directors who are interested in the promotion and development of community based education. They strive to meet the non-credit educational needs of the community, by creating opportunities for learners to:
· Acquire new skills
· Learn new languages
· Discover new leisure activities
· Solve community problems
· Understand our rapidly changing world
· Develop self-confidence and potential through learning
· Meet new friends
· Have fun
If there is a course you would like to teach, a course you would like to see offered, or an educational concern you wish to address, please call or drop by their office on the Portage College campus in Lac La Biche. The office is open Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays (September to June) from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Your requests, suggestions and registrations are welcome!
PAL - Program for Adult Learning
Need help with reading, writing, spelling, math, or with speaking English? One-on-one FREE, confidential tutoring is yours for the asking!
Or - How about becoming a tutor? Training is available. Volunteers are needed to help adults learn basic skills in these areas.
Or - Talk to PAL about free plain written language and clear verbal communication workshops for your organization. They can help you make your services more accessible for your clients.

Public Legal Education
The Portage College Public Legal Education Program is a public service initiative offered in partnership with the Alberta Law Foundation. The program offers learning opportunities to individuals, families, and communities throughout northeastern Alberta, through the provision of information and education on a variety of legal topics.
