Printing, Photocopying & Scanning to Email

Printing

You will receive a $25 Papercut card along with your network login account. You will need to redeem it before you can print. To redeem:

  1. Log into a college workstation and click on the hidden icons on the bottom of the screen.
  2. Click on the papercut icon.
  3. Enter your login password.
  4. Click on the Details link.
  5. Click on Redeem.
  6. Type in the alpha-numerical sequence exactly as it is on the card.
  7. You will get a message that you have successfully redeemed your card.
  8. You will now have a balance of $25.00 in your Papercut account.
  9. Click on Logout.
  10. Proceed with printing.

Printing is 10 cents per page (20 cents double-sided.)

15D is located past the first few bays of computer workstations in the Information Commons.
15A is located near the circulation desk.
84A is located upstairs in room 221.

  1. Find PaperCut on the desktop and click "details" (or click the leaf icon at the bottom right corner of the desktop and click details).
  2. A popup window to login to PaperCut will open. Sign in with your username and password.
  3. Click on "recent print jobs."
  4. Under the printer column find the printer name.
  5. LLB-15-A (colour and black & white printing options) is in the library by the circulation desk.
    LLB-15-D (black & white printing only) is at the back of the library in the information commons' computer lab.

Printing in Colour?

Follow the instructions to add LLB-15-A printer for colour printing by the circulation desk (see instruction with images here) .

  1. Click on the windows icon at the bottom left corner.
  2. Scroll down and click on "settings."
  3. Click on "devices."
  4. Click on "printers and scanners" on the left margin.
  5. Select "add printers and scanners" wait for a message to load "The printer that I want isn't listed" and select it.
  6. Select the radio button "Find a printer in the directory, based on location or feature" and click "next." 
  7. In the name field type in LLB-15-A and click "find now." In the search result, make sure to highlight the printer and then click "ok." 
  8. You will have successfully added the printer LLB-15-A. Then click "next" and "finish." 
  9. When you start to print you can change your printer settings to LLB-15-A. 
  10. To print a PDF or Word Document in colour, select "printer properties" and "image options." Ensure to select the colour printing option.

Photocopying

Once you have a balance in your Papercut account, you can photocopy:

  1. Load documents in the feeder face up or on the glass face down.
  2. From the Services Screen, press the Copy button.
  3. Press the Keyboard button.
  4. Type in your student ID # and press Enter.
  5. Type in a PIN and press Enter. The first time you photocopy (or scan to email,) you will be prompted for a 4-digit PIN. You will need to choose a PIN and then re-enter the same PIN for verification.
  6. Confirm user information and press Yes.
  7. Select single-sided or double-sided copying and change number of copies if applicable.
  8. Proceed with photocopying by pressing the green Start button.

Note: Don't forget to Logout when you are finished!

Scanning to Email

  1. Load documents in the feeder face up or on the glass face down.
  2. From the Services Screen, press the Email button.
  3. Press the Keyboard button.
  4. Type in your student ID # and press Enter.
  5. Type in a PIN and press Enter. The first time you photocopy (or scan to email,) you will be prompted for a 4-digit PIN. You will need to choose a PIN and then re-enter the same PIN for verification.
  6. Confirm user information and press Yes.
  7. Press the New Recipient button and type in email address and press Close.
  8. Optional: You can also change the subject line.
  9. Select single-sided or double-sided copying and change number of copies if applicable.
  10. Proceed with scanning by pressing the green Start button.

Note: Don't forget to Logout when you are finished!
