Every year, the Portage College Library gives out Reader Participation Awards to two students. One winner is chosen from the Lac La Biche campus and another from one of our other campuses.
The Reader Participation Award program is open to all students registered with Portage College and runs from September 1 to April 15 each year. Participants register items they read by completing a simple entry form for each item. Download your Entry Forms here or you may collect them from the Library Circulation Desks in Cold Lake and Lac La Biche and through Instructors at other Portage College campuses. Simply record what you have read during September to April then submit your entries to your instructor or directly to the Library.
The award consists of either a $100 bursary toward the next year of studies OR a Canadian Oxford Dictionary and selection of the student's favourite reading. At the end of April, the entries are reviewed and winners are chosen.
The 2015 - 2016 Reader Participation Award winner is Mackenzie Martin. Congratulations, Mackenzie!
Other entrants were Pauline Youngchief and Kayla Buffalo. Reading enriches all our lives. Keep reading!
