Portage College would like to welcome the new Board of Governors (BOG) Chair of Portage College, Randolph Benson.
The recruitment plan and selection guide for the Chair position is controlled by Advanced Education with recommendations provided by the BOG of Portage College. Screening of applications is done to meet criteria followed by interviews by Advanced Education. The Minister of Advanced Education then makes recommendations to the Province of Alberta Lieutenant Governor or Administrator on appointing BOG members.
Benson is familiar with this role after serving as Portage College BOG Chair from 2008 to 2011 as well as a public member in 2004.
"Portage College has a strong history of excellent leadership and the appointment of Mr. Benson as the new chair will continue that momentum," said Marlin Schmidt, Minister of Advanced Education, "His experience with the college and within the Lac La Biche community will provide the necessary oversight to help the college grow and meet the needs of Alberta's students. Thank you to past chair Ray Danyluk and acting chair Roy Ripkens for their dedication and service to Portage College."
Randolph Benson will serve a term to expire June 27, 2020.
