FUNDING OPTIONS FOR POST-SECONDARY

Aboriginal Student Funding
The most common sources of funding are Band, Settlement and Regional Council, these are some of the first places for First Nations, Metis and Inuit students to look. Also some funding opportunities can be accessed through government initiatives and non-profit organizations.

Alberta Works - Financial Support for Training
Grant funding is available for Academic Upgrading students for specific courses required for entrance to a career program.

Apprenticeship & Industry Training - Financial Assistance
Registered Alberta apprentices and occupational trainees may be eligible for financial assistance when attending the technical training portion of their program.

Canada-Alberta Job Grant
Employers train the workers you need. Students ask your employer to apply for this grant. Students may be eligible to receive up to 100% of the training costs to a maximum of $15,000. Don't miss this opportunity!

CanLearn
The Canada Student Loans Program provides financial assistance in the form of loans and grants to post-secondary students who demonstrate financial need.

Student Aid Alberta
Student Aid Alberta recommends that you apply for funding at least two months prior to the start of your program or courses.

Veterans' Education and Training Benefit
This new benefit will provide funding to help support for college, university or technical education to Canadian Armed Forces Regular Force and Reserve Force Veterans with at least six years of military service.
