Understanding the hydrologic cycle and water related regulations are critical in identifying the appropriate responses for the day to day decision-making of a water and wastewater operator.
In this course you will learn about the basic hydrologic cycle as it related to water supply and wastewater management, the concept of watershed, and key aspects of relevant regulations. Further, you will have opportunities for practice in environmental sampling, quality assurance and quality control to get representative water quality measurements from different water sources using computer-based simulations.
Success in this course will require basic computer literacy, including comfort with Word and Excel as well as the ability to work in Moodle and with the computer simulations. ProServe is Alberta’s responsible liquor sales and service program. This program ensures that the service and sale of liquor is done according to law and in a way that keeps customers, guests and others safe from alcohol-related harm.
It is a mandatory program for full- and part-time workers of legal age employed or volunteering in positions where liquor is provided under authorized licensed premises. The ProServe program can help licensees and industry workers curb the problem of underage drinking, reduce alcohol over-consumption, reduce impaired driving and reduce the risk of violence. After the program exercises and questionnaires have been completed, students will take the final exam, which is 35 questions long and has a time restriction of 45 minutes.
A total of five exam attempts are given. Students have 30 days to complete the program.
