Named wanîskah ᐊᐧᓂᐢᑲᐦ, the room serves as a concrete and spiritual centerpiece for our students, staff, and community. wanîskah means “arise, wake up and rise” and was chosen to reflect waking up to ways of change and Indigenous Ways of Knowing.

This student lounge, located in the main foyer of our Lac La Biche campus, is accessible to all students and provides a comfortable, quiet place for studying, reading, writing, or taking a break. It’s also a great place to meet and connect with friends.
