Here is a message from Lise Warawa, Senior Advisor, Community & Indigenous Affairs of Cenovus Energy.
Funds raised by this raffle will go to support buying equipment, furniture and supplies for the Indigenous Cultural Space.
We have several ticketing packages available; and amazing prizes!
Tickets will be available until April 21st, 2021 or tickets sell out.
Draw date is April 23rd, 2021 at noon.
More information to follow- stay tuned to see how you can help us raise funds for our Indigenous Space. Funds raised will go towards buying equipment, furniture & supplies.
This space will provide a space to educate and participate in spiritual and cultural events. This project is keeping with Portage’s strong Indigenous roots and will benefit students and staff for years to come.
This Indigenous tradition is passed on from grandmother to daughter, and sister to sister – the Ribbon Skirt. Students of the Native Arts program make their own Ribbon Skirts and share with us the importance and significance that ties back to Mother Earth.
Please enjoy this short video "Learn about the Ribbon Skirt"
We cannot be in person this year so we wanted to create a space for people to connect online. Flipgrid is a place where you can share what you enjoy during Round Dance, share your traditions for this gathering or what you look forward to when we can get together in person. We encourage sharing of knowledge and traditions and want this to be a place where people can learn new things.
