Access to Information and Protection of Privacy
Alberta’s Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FOIP) has been repealed and replaced with the Access to Information Act (ATIA) and the Protection of Privacy Act (POPA). As a public body, Portage College is subject to these two new acts.
The two acts provide individuals with key rights, including the right to access records held by the College, right to access personal information about themselves held by the College and the right to make corrections to their personal information. POPA also controls how public bodies can collect, use and disclose person information.
