Portage College is proud to announce that on September 19, 2025, the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW) Council approved the Community Social Work program for seven (7) years re-accreditation, which is the longest accreditation period.
The ACSW site visit team and Council congratulated Portage College, noting that the program is strong, stable, and clearly a pillar of the community. They highlighted that the program supports learners to become great social workers and leaders who go on to support those in the community who need it.
This seven-year approval reflects the hard work and dedication of the Community Social Work faculty and staff, whose efforts ensure that students are well-prepared to excel in the social work profession. An official letter and certificate of approval will be shared with the program in the coming weeks.
