On August 21st, 2025 the Portage College Athletic Association is hosting the 3rd Voyageurs Golf Classic at the Lac La Biche Golf Club. This is a fundraising event for our PCAA who work with athletics to fund some of the projects over the course of the season.

ER nurse says Portage College Paramedic grads are so good, she and her step-dad enrolled in the program
Taylor Resendes is an ER nurse from Sylvan Lake who is taking the Advanced Care Paramedic program at Portage College because she has seen first-hand how well-trained the program's graduates are. Resendes and her step-dad, Cory Christopherson, are both in the two-and-a-half-year program and say they continue to be impressed by the outstanding training offered at Portage College.

Portage College events boost community economies
Portage College events at campus locations across northeastern Alberta can boost regional economies. A recent college-level sporting event in Lac La Biche drew players and team officials to the community from five post-secondary institutions.
