Stay active and reduce stress!

Lac La Biche campus facilities include: weight room, cardio room and racquetball court as well as a full-size gymnasium. Students can also sign out equipment for use at the outdoor soccer field or beach volleyball court by using their student ID.

Changing room, showers and locker rentals are available to patrons.

All College facilities and activities are included with the Portage College student recreation fee.

  • Monday to Friday 7:15AM to 9:00PM
  • Saturday and Sunday 3:00PM to 8:00PM
  • Closed on statutory holidays

Archery

The Lakeland Archers want to show you what they’re all about. Their aim is to grow the sport by introducing anyone interested in competitive archery. Check out our Facility Locations page for directions.

Bowling

The Lucky Strike 5-pin bowling center features glow bowling, Rock ‘n’ Bowl, restaurant, bar, snack bar, party facilities. Gather some friends hand have some fun.

Community Access Bus

The bus is available Monday-Friday from 10 am to 5 pm. Students can obtain a free pass at the College Student Services counter.

Frizzy Disk

Disc catcher pros and dedicated artificial turf tees. Technical course with lots of turns and hills. Narrow fairways through thick treed areas. These features will keep you coming back for more.

Grill & Chill

Brought to you by the Students’ Association of Portage College and Rec & Student Life every Thursday in the Voyageurs Grill from 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Enjoy games, movies and other activities.

Gym Jam and more!

Visit the Lac La Biche County Family & Community Support Services page to find out what’s going on in the community. There’s lots of free activities such as crafting sessions, Gym Jam and workshops.

Hiking Trails

Sir Winston Churchill Provincial Park has designated hiking trails of various lengths that you can enjoy year-round. Remember to always practice backcountry safety.

Indoor Playground

The free indoor playground in the Cenovus Child Mind Centre at the Bold Center is open to the public. Kids must be supervised at all times. Check the link to find out the free scheduled days/times.

KidSport

KidSport provides grants to kids from families facing financial barriers so they can participate in registered sport programs and experience the lifelong benefits of a season of sport.

Parks & Outdoor Attractions

The Lac La Biche Region has some of the most incredible woods and waters in the Lakeland. It’s a year-round playground for those in search of outdoor adventure.

Portage Pool

Students can access the Portage Pool by using their student ID. The facility features a five-lane 25m main pool, wading pool for the kids, steam room and a hot tub. An excellent option for those winter evenings.

Prescription To Get Active

This program is designed to help people boost their physical activity. Patients who bring their Prescription to Get Active to participating facilities will receive a specified period of free general admission to the Bold Center and Portage Pool.

SAPC Activities

Track Access For All

Students can enjoy free access to the indoor track located at the Bold Center. The Free track access does not include access to the fitness equipment or spin bikes, but there are stretching mats and exercise balls available for use.

Voyageur Athletics

Support our Voyageurs athletes by attending home games at the Bold Center. Admission is free to all Portage Students and their families. Game admission sponsored by Britton’s Your Independent Grocer.
