ABOUT THE POSITION
Reporting to the Corporate Communications media team, this role assists with the creation and delivery of media content to promote Portage College. The employee will learn proper photography and videography methods and techniques while supporting the College’s media production needs. Responsibilities include:
- Assist with media production for College events, including the loading, setup and operation of equipment.
- Capture photography and raw video footage at Portage College events, including sporting events.
- Create and support social media content to promote events across Portage College’s various social media platforms.
- Review, organize and appropriately log and tag captured and created content for the College’s media repository.
- Assist with uploading content and preparing draft projects for editing.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Familiarity with various social media platforms.
- Basic experience with photography, videography and video editing.
- Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and concisely in the English language.
- A Class V driver’s license is considered an asset but not required.
- The successful applicant will be required to submit a police information check that meets with the satisfaction of the College.
