Portage College Co-Leads National Military Credential Recognition Through CMVF3C

Portage College is co-leading military credential recognition through the Canadian Military, Veteran & Family Connected Campus Consortium (CMVF3C). By offering programs like Military PLAR and Military to Business Pathways, the College supports Canadian Armed Forces members, veterans, and their families in translating service experience into academic achievements and civilian career success.

Métis Scholar Awards presented at Portage College

Nine Portage College students recently received recognition and funding for their full-time program studies at the College. The Métis Scholar Awards are presented each year to Métis students at Portage College. The awards are made possible by the Métis Education Foundation, the Otipemisiwak Métis Government, Rupertsland Institute and participating post-secondary institutions like Portage College.

Five post secondaries in northern Alberta pen historic Memorandum of Understanding

Portage College and four other northern Alberta post-secondaries have signed a new agreement. At its core, the partnership aims to ensure that post-secondary education in northern Alberta remains accessible, relevant, and sustainable. This initiative will enable students to stay in the region throughout their educational journey and support graduate retention for career success in the North.

Portage College students benefit from $75,000 contribution to endowment fund made by Métis Education Foundation

A long-serving endowment fund that provides financial awards to Métis students attending Portage College is getting a $75,000 boost.Provided by the Métis Education Foundation Endowment Fund, the awards represent a continuing partnership between Portage College, the Métis Education Fund, the Otipemisiwak Métis Government, and the Rupertsland Institute. The endowment fund has provided financial awards to Portage College students each year since 2009.

Portage College enters an exciting new partnership with Riipen.

Portage College announced its partnership with Riipen to launch the Level UP program, which enhances student employability through paid, project-based learning experiences. This initiative connects students with diverse employers for short-term, remote projects while being able to apply academic knowledge in real-world contexts. Each project, totaling 60 hours, offers students the chance to complete up to three projects, earning a stipend of $1,400 each. Funded by the Government of Canada’s Innovative Work-Integrated Learning (I-WIL) Initiatives program, Level UP aims to bridge the gap between education and employment, fostering critical skills...
