Pre-Employment Heavy Equipment Technician
Pre-Employment Trades programs involve taking the course material of Period One Apprenticeship programs, extending the duration of learning the material from the typically fast-paced eight-week program, and expanding that to twelve weeks. Providing students extra time to learn the materials and more lab time to practice and gain an understanding of the theory they’ve learned. As such, the program is best designed for students who may have limited prior experience or knowledge of the work performed by Heavy Equipment Technicians. Students who successfully complete the program will have the opportunity to write the Period 1 exam for Apprenticeship Heavy Equipment Technician.
Pre-Employment Welding

Apprenticeship Industry Training (AIT)
Apprenticeship Trades programs within Alberta are governed by Apprenticeship Industry Training (AIT), and as such, the educational experience, entrance requirements, and work requirements are set by AIT and standardized across all post-secondary institutions.
