About This Event
Significant changes are coming to disability supports in Alberta. With the Government of Alberta introducing the Alberta Disability Assistance Program (ADAP) in July 2026, individuals currently receiving AISH may be impacted by changes to how supports are delivered.
Join the Voice of Albertans with Disabilities (VAD Society) for an interactive, client friendly session that breaks down what these changes may mean for individuals, families, and service providers.
This session will explore key differences between AISH and ADAP, including changes to financial supports, eligibility and review processes, and expectations related to employment. It will also highlight where to find accurate information, advocacy resources, and supports during the transition.
Through real world examples, discussion, and questions, participants will leave with a clearer understanding of the upcoming changes and how to navigate them.
What You Will Learn
- An overview of AISH and the new ADAP program
- Key changes and what they may mean in practice
