About the Session
Join us for a dynamic and interactive training session and connect with others who care about the wellbeing of older adults. This session teaches bystanders of all ages how to recognize the warning signs of elder abuse and take safe and supportive action. The small actions you take can make a meaningful difference in changing attitudes, preventing harm, and stopping abuse of older adults.
Participants will learn how to:
- Recognize the warning signs and risk factors of elder abuse
- Understand how ageism contributes to abuse
- Recognize the impact of abusive behavior
- Respond safely and supportively when abuse is suspected
- Have a conversation if you are concerned about abuse
- Know where to find help and resources
