Videos

Join Francis Dumais as he talks about the Métis life in this video.

The Métis traditions of hunting, trapping and fishing are a way of life that are still a big part of the Lavallee family. Kenny and Diane Lavallee have passed down this life to their children and grandchildren the same way it was passed down to Kenny from his father and mother.

We acknowledge that Portage College’s service region is on the traditional lands of First Nation Peoples, the owners of Treaty 6, 8 and 10, which are also homelands to the Métis people. We honour the history and culture of all people who first lived and gathered in these lands.
