Environmental Studies

Portage College will continue to monitor the pandemic situation closely and will make adjustments to program delivery depending on guidance from Alberta Health Services and the Ministry of Advanced Education.

Put down roots in a rapidly growing job market.

Our program will continue to focus on the changing environment. Graduates of NRT are qualified to land a job and hit the ground running in the lumber pulp, forest protection, re-forestation and reclamation industries as well as with provincial and federal government departments. Oil and gas companies also look for trained people to manage reclamation, the re-establishment of vegetation and to monitor the environmental impact of their operations.

Natural Resources Technology Program

The Natural Resources Technology program in Alberta is a diploma program for people who love the outdoors, but who have a strong interest in environmental sustainability.

Let's Get Started

We acknowledge that Portage College’s service region is on the traditional lands of First Nation Peoples, the owners of Treaty 6, 8 and 10, which are also homelands to the Métis people. We honour the history and culture of all people who first lived and gathered in these lands.
