Alberta Government has announced that post-secondary colleges and universities will be returning to face-to-face delivery where possible for September 2021. Based on this announcement, the Natural Resources Technology faculty are planning for face-to-face lectures and labs for fall 2021. Portage College will continue to monitor the pandemic situation in the months leading up to September and will make further announcements and adjustments to program delivery depending on guidance from Alberta Health Services and the Ministry of Advanced Education.
Put down roots in a rapidly growing job market.
Our program will continue to focus on the changing environment. Graduates of NRT are qualified to land a job and hit the ground running in the lumber pulp, forest protection, re-forestation and reclamation industries as well as with provincial and federal government departments. Oil and gas companies also look for trained people to manage reclamation, the re-establishment of vegetation and to monitor the environmental impact of their operations.
The Natural Resources Technology program in Alberta is a diploma program for people who love the outdoors, but who have a strong interest in environmental sustainability.
