Environmental Studies

Put down roots in a rapidly growing job market.

Due to COVID-19, all Fall 2020 courses in Natural Resources Technology (NRT) will be delivered online with certain weeks on-campus (one week per month) to cover important labs during the first semester. We are working to create lab instruction at the Lac La Biche campus which will be physically-distanced and safe.

Students' health and safety are our priorities, but when our provincial government eases restrictions we will be ready to help students transition safely and securely back to the classroom.

Our program will continue to focus on the changing environment. Graduates of NRT are qualified to land a job and hit the ground running in the lumber pulp, forest protection, re-forestation and reclamation industries as well as with provincial and federal government departments. Oil and gas companies also look for trained people to manage reclamation, the re-establishment of vegetation and to monitor the environmental impact of their operations.
