  • The Critical Worker Benefit has re-opened to provide a one-time payment of $1,200 to eligible Albertans who provide critical services, are essential to the supply and movement of goods and have a potential risk of exposure to COVID-19 through their work environments.  Please visit the Critical Worker Benefit website for further information and a complete list of the expanded occupations - https://www.alberta.ca/critical-worker-benefit.aspx

Delivery Methods

Cohort Delivery
We provide cohort delivery for groups of students. These can be delivered at a Portage College campus or we can bring them to your location. In order to ensure that these courses are viable and to avoid cancellation, 90% or more of the students in the cohort should sign up to attend.

Micro-credentials
Micro-credentials are rapid training programs that can help you get the skills that employers need, and a good way to retrain and upgrade your skills to find new employment.

Online Safety Courses
Training courses may be taken from desktop computers, laptops, tablets, smartphones and most devices with an internet connection. Course materials are automatically adjusted based on your device to deliver an optimized learning experience. They are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

On Campus Delivery
We offer a number of programs, courses and training programs at the Cold Lake, Lac La Biche and St. Paul campuses. Our programs and courses are delivered in a variety of settings such as trades labs, art studios, salon, computer labs and classrooms depending on the subject.

We acknowledge that Portage College’s service region is on the traditional lands of First Nation Peoples, the owners of Treaty 6, 8 and 10, which are also homelands to the Métis people. We honour the history and culture of all people who first lived and gathered in these lands.
