ABOUT THE POSITION

Portage College is actively seeking a highly motivated individual to join our Infrastructure team at the Lac La Biche campus performing a wide range of critical duties that impact all areas of the College. Some of the responsibilities include:

  • Conducting preventative maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting.
  • Responding to work orders and tracking progress of work requests.
  • Completing general building maintenance.
  • Moving, loading and unloading furniture, equipment and building materials.
  • Maintaining clean and organized workshops and work areas.
  • Performing grounds maintenance duties, including grass cutting, snow removal, and general debris cleanup.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum high school education required.
  • Carpentry skills essential; Journeyman certification considered an asset.
  • Experience in performing general building maintenance tasks.
  • Proficient in the use of hand and power tools, with knowledge of related safety practices.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude including the ability to operate equipment and diagnose minor equipment malfunctions.
  • Physically capable of performing tasks involving heavy lifting.
  • Basic computer skills considered an asset.
  • Successful applicant will be required to provide a current police information check.
