ABOUT THE POSITION
Portage College is actively seeking a highly motivated and tech-savvy journeyperson to instruct in our Electrical program at the Cold Lake campus. Responsibilities include:
- Deliver engaging theory and hands-on lab instruction to students in the Electrical program.
- Develop learning materials and assessments tailored for adult learners which will include the use of various Microsoft Office programs, following college and program guidelines.
- Support student success by providing timely feedback and evaluations.
- Promote and enforce safety protocols in both classroom and lab settings, in line with Alberta’s Occupational Health and Safety Act.
- Foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment where everyone feels valued.
- Continuously improve instructional practices to enhance student learning.
- Stay connected with industry professionals and regulatory bodies to ensure our program meets industry standards and best practices
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Journeyperson Electrician; preference will be given to candidates with Master or Red Seal certification.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience in adult instruction, training, or tutoring is considered an asset.
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in computer skills, with a solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Knowledge or experience with Moodle or other Learning Management Systems (LMS) is an asset.
- The successful applicant will be required to provide a current police information check.
