ABOUT THE POSITION

Reporting to the Director, Student Services/Registrar, the Student Accommodation and Campus Security Manager serves as a member of the Student Services leadership team. The incumbent provides guidance and oversight of student support, growth and development of student accommodation and campus security services focused on student success, at all campuses, as well as leadership and general management of units. Responsibilities include:

  • Student Accommodations: Manage budget, revenue, operations, tenant relations, risk mitigation, and compliance with Landlord-Tenant laws. Oversee student discipline, crisis support, and develop guidelines/protocols.
  • Campus Security Services: Manage budget, operations, risk mitigation, threat assessments, and ensure compliance with licensing laws. Oversee student discipline, crisis support, and develop security-related protocols.
  • Student Life Activities: Support Residence Life, Orientation, Clubs, Healthy Campus initiatives, and collaborate with Student Experience, Recreation, and Student Association.
  • Student Support Services: Ensure comprehensive support through partnerships with Counseling, crisis support, and community services.
  • Conferencing Services: Oversee Lac La Biche Campus conferencing operations.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • University degree in related discipline such as Certified Property Management, Business Administration, Project Management. Equivalencies will be considered
  • Minimum five (5) years of progressively responsible administrative management experience in housing services including supervision, preferably in a post-secondary environment
  • Strong computer skills; experience with development, modification and/or management of automated data systems.
  • Familiarity with the Canadian post-secondary system or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience in mediation and/or conflict resolution strategies and methods
  • Experience with operational planning and implementation, personnel development, management and implementation of change
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present ideas and concepts.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations.
  • Successful applicant will be required to provide a current police information check.
