National Ribbon Skirt Day

Celebrate National Ribbon Skirt Day with Portage College today!

This day originates with the story of Isabella Kulak, a member of Cote First Nation, who was shamed for wearing her handmade ribbon skirt to a formal wear day at her elementary school.

Wear your ribbon skirt proudly today and share a picture with us on any of our social media platforms for a chance to win a prize.

We acknowledge that Portage College’s service region is on the traditional lands of First Nation Peoples, the owners of Treaty 6, 8 and 10, which are also homelands to the Métis people. We honour the history and culture of all people who first lived and gathered in these lands.
