About the Event:

If you support individuals affected by domestic abuse, it is likely you will encounter those involved in sex work. Understanding the unique challenges sex workers face is essential to providing effective support.

This interactive two-hour session will cover:
✔ What sex work is and how it is defined.
✔ How sex work is perceived and legislated in Canada.
✔ The intersections of domestic abuse and sex work, including the barriers and risks sex workers face when seeking help.

Equip yourself and your organization with the knowledge and tools to better support this population.

About the Facilitator:

Sagesse works to disrupt structures of domestic abuse by curating environments for individuals, organizations, and communities to see their role in addressing domestic violence. Through direct service, capacity building, and advocacy, Sagesse provides support, education, and tools to help create change. Their expertise includes working with individuals who have experienced domestic abuse, those engaged in sex work, and those at risk of experiencing violence.
