Portage College is pleased to announce the launch of the Kinesiology and Sport Studies Diploma. Following community consultations at various levels, Portage College has identified the need for more access to such programs within our region. Our focus is going to be on providing a broad introduction to Kinesiology which will allow students to pursue a variety of employment and education opportunities.

The Kinesiology and Sports Studies Diploma will include both in-class instruction and work placement within the community, preparing each student with the skills and knowledge that they will need to succeed in their chosen career. Kinesiology has been identified as an area of interest for many young adults in our region as it ladders into several degree programs which are related to in-demand healthcare occupations within the Portage College region.

The Kinesiology and Sports Studies Diploma is designed for students with a passion for Fitness and Health Promotion with a desire to work within fitness programming. This program will give students knowledge in the study of human body movement, with a focus on planning and instructing fitness classes, performing fitness tests, working with individuals and groups to connect them to physical activity, and understanding their health.
