Congratulations to the winners and all regional participants who took part in the Northeast Regional Skills Canada Competition held recently at the Portage College campus locations in St. Paul and Lac La Biche.
The Skills Canada and Skills Canada Alberta event showcased the incredible talents of high school students from across the region in skilled trades and technologies. Across the province, the competition covers 45 contest areas, drawing more than 700 students from 115 schools.
On Thursday, March 20, students from schools in the province’s northeastern region were at the St. Paul Portage College campus, competing in the Culinary Arts and Baking categories. The next day, the Lac La Biche campus hosted competitors in the carpentry, welding and hairstyling events. All of the competitions utilized the extensive on-site labs and workspaces available at Portage College.
