Two New Challenging Roles

May 16, 2016. Portage College is pleased to welcome two new associate deans to its leadership team. Donna Feledichuk, based in Lac La Biche, and Robin Tizzard, based in Cold Lake, are both being promoted from their current program coordinator positions as part of a strategic succession plan within academic programs. This succession plan identifies internal people who are experienced and capable with the potential to fill key leadership positions.

Donna's leadership portfolio includes program administration duties in Academic Upgrading, Native Arts and Culture, Trades and Technology, Food Sciences as well as Teaching and Learning. In addition to her program portfolio, Donna will be stewarding College guidelines and procedures on academic quality assurance, instructional design and research. Donna's prior experience within the college as Coordinator and her experience as Manager as well as Executive Director within the University of Alberta will be a valuable asset.

Robin's leadership portfolio includes program administration duties in Faculty of Business, University Studies, Community Social Work and Natural Resources Technology. She will be working to provide academic leadership that is both operational and strategic for the faculty areas. In addition to her program responsibilities, Robin will be accountable for Dual Credit programming and course/program transfers at the College. Robin's experience in supporting students and faculty as an instructor, as a faculty development support and as a coordinator will guide her well in the role.

The new associate deans with be mentored by Guy Gervais, Associate Vice-President Academic, and Fatima Tarrabain, Dean of Education, Environment and Cultural Arts.
