Whistleblower Awareness Day
March 22, 2022

Portage College is recognizing Whistleblower Awareness Day on March 24 to mark the important role of whistleblowers.

“Accountability is one of Portage College’s core values and we recognize the need for Whistleblower processes and protections,” said Nancy Broadbent, President and CEO of Portage College. “People need to have a way to identify any unlawful, dangerous or other actions that might harm the public interest.”

Beyond a citizen’s right to reach out to the Public Interest Commissioner, Portage College also has its own Whistleblower hotline which is anonymously provided by MNP.

We acknowledge that Portage College’s service region is on the traditional lands of First Nation Peoples, the owners of Treaty 6, 8 and 10, which are also homelands to the Métis people. We honour the history and culture of all people who first lived and gathered in these lands.
