Our trained educators can help you with your learning goals through a variety of programs. You can work at your own skill level and pace.
The Portage College Community Adult Learning Programs (CALPs) are award-winning community-based programs funded by Alberta Advanced Education.
We offer support for learners in reading, writing, math, computers, or English language learning to improve their daily lives.
CALP COURSES
We have full-time and part-time programs to help you with reading, writing, math and computers.
OUR SERVICE REGION
Over 100 CALP sites exist across Alberta. Portage College oversees sites in these northeastern Alberta communities.
GED (General Equivalency Diploma)
For many people the GED (General Equivalency Diploma) is a way to obtain a high school diploma.
Instructor in Foundational Learning
The Instruction in Foundational Literacy and Numeracy micro-credentials will prepare you to work with adult foundational learners in a variety of settings.

Visit the CALP website to learn more about the programs offered in Alberta. CALP supports over 100 community-based organizations that offer adult literacy and foundational learning programs.

Portage College CALPs Adapting to Community Member Needs
The usual face-to-face delivery has required the program to adapt
