Criteria:

  • Must be a student completing any one of the Academics for Careers and Education (upgrading) programs and moving into a post-secondary or skill training program at Portage College or any other post-secondary institution
  • Must provide confirmation of acceptance into a career program
  • Must have a minimum 80% average
  • Demonstrate financial need — must complete section C on awards application

Monies will be distributed upon completion of Academics for Careers and Education (upgrading) in June.

Criteria:

  • Registered and graduating from the Natural Resource Technology Diploma Program
  • Must be pursuing his/her post-secondary education on a full-time basis in the fall of current year, attending a Forestry Degree Program
  • Must have a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 upon completion of the second year of the diploma program
  • Proof of registration in further studies
  • Must submit a detailed letter outlining your career plans

Note: Cheques will be released in October after confirmation of enrolment in further studies.

Criteria:

  • Open to all registered students at Portage College
  • Participants must register each item they read (books, articles or newspapers)

Reading progress and interest in reading are looked at as well as quantity of books read.

Method of application: Must fill out an entry form available from the Library, Instructors or the Library website.

Value: $400     

Number available: 2 per deadline

Deadlines: September 30, November 4, January 20, March 24 & May 5

 Criteria:

  • Registered in part-time studies at Portage College
  • Demonstrate financial need — must complete section C on awards application
  • Have satisfactory progress and attendance as confirmed by program area

Note: Part-time is defined as a student taking less than 60% of a course load per semester.
