About the Event:

Individuals with Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) often interact with various areas of the justice system: as victims, witnesses, individuals in conflict with the law, and in family or civil law matters.

This session aims to improve understanding and support for people with FASD by exploring:

  • The work of the Lakeland Centre for FASD in providing resources and information about FASD.
  • How to better understand the brain and the underlying causes of many behavioral symptoms of FASD.
  • Strategies for navigating the justice system for individuals with FASD and their supporters.
