We're pleased to provide spaces and support that reflect the culture and values of our students.
A traditional blessing ceremony was held to open this space to students.
All the furniture within the student lounge was donated by the Lac La Biche Canadian Native Friendship Centre. The framed photos and pictures were hung by the Portage College Museum of Aboriginal Peoples’ Art & Artifacts. The windows were painted by students of our Native Arts and Culture programs. Together, these create a warm and welcoming space.
We acknowledge that Portage College’s service region is on the traditional lands of First Nation Peoples, the owners of Treaty 6, 8 and 10, which are also homelands to the Métis people. We honour the history and culture of all people who first lived and gathered in these lands.
