Guest Artist Aeris Osborne will deliver a sketch and watercolor workshop to Portage College Native Arts & Culture and Fine Arts students.

 

 

Wednesday, June 8th to Saturday, June 11th - Lac La Biche Art Club Exhibition and Sale
Four Days in June Exhibition and Sale is a large Art Maze. There will also be a clue game or search game where guests will be given a slip of paper and look for clues throughout the exhibition and their names will go into a draw for a door-prize.

Friday, June 10th - Sock Puppet Workshop - Ages 5-7
Participants will have fun creating their own character and learn how to construct a detailed, quality sock puppet that they can perform with then take home. Workshop let by Hawkey Studios.

 

Friday, June 10h - Puppetry Workshop - Ages 8-14
In this puppetry workshop participants will get to make their own Snuff (furry) puppet. They will develop a character for their puppet, learn about script development, and get a chance to perform on a puppet stage. Workshop led by Hawkey Studios.

Friday, June 10th - The Lieutenant Governor of Alberta Emerging Artist Awards and Distinguished Artists Talk. - Free Event
Join Her Honour Salma Lakhani, The Lieutenant Governor of Alberta and other honoured guests as we celebrate the accomplishments of up to ten Emerging Artists recipients. Welcome Cheryl Foggo, Faye HeavyShield and Vicki Adams Willis to speak about their respective art forms and projects and what it means to them to be chosen for the Distinguished Artist Award.

The event will take place from 7:00 to 9:00 pm in the McGrane Theatre at Portage College in Lac La Biche, no reservation necessary.

Saturday, June 11th - Plein-Air Painting Activity
This is an open invitation from the Lac La Biche Art Club to join them at McArthur Park to paint. Bring your own supplies, easels, lawn chairs, etc.

Saturday, June 11th - Art Walk and Market in the Park BOLD CENTER
Due to inclement weather this event has moved to the Bold Center. Take some time to join local artists as they showcase the talents and crafts. There will be live music, entertainment, free food, art market and many activities to do.

Saturday, June 11th - The Lieutenant Governor of Alberta 2021 Distinguished Artist Awards & Gala Dinner
The Distinguished Artist Award is Alberta’s most prestigious arts award, recognizing professional artists whose work is deemed outstanding by an independent, national panel of adjudicators.

Join us in the McGrane Theatre for awards and entertainment to honour the 2021 Distinguished Artists: Artist Faye HeavyShield (Blood Reserve, Kainaiwa Nation, AB), writer and filmmaker Cheryl Foggo (Calgary, AB), and dance choreographer Vicki Adams Willis (Calgary, AB).

Celebrations continue in the gymnasium with entertainment, a great meal and the opportunity to rub shoulders with some of Alberta’s most outstanding artists.
